Good morning! Today's a Monty Python's Flying Circus kind of day. A Dead Parrot Sketch kind of day.
"...And when I bought [the Norwegian Blue Parrot] not half an hour ago, you assured me that its lack of movement was due to being tired and shagged out after a long squawk."
"It's probably probably pinin for the fjords."
"Pinin for the fjords, what kind of talk is that?"
Five coats of Nerd Lacquer Pinin' for the Fjords. My bottle of Pinin' for the Fjords is definitely more purple than Norwegian Blue, but it does contain Norwegian Blue glitter, purple glitter, and small specks of silver glitter.

Nerd Lacquer Entirely Unlike Tea
How hard is it to get a cup of tea while traveling through the universe? It's pretty hard as Arthur Dent found out in the novel The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. The Nutrimatic Drink Dispenser, when asked to produce a drink, "makes an instant but highly detailed examination of the subject's taste buds, a spectroscopic analysis of the subject's metabolism, and then sends tiny experimental signals down the neural pathways to the taste centers of the subject's brain to see what is likely to be well received." The end result is a cup of liquid that is "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea."
Today's polish is what that tea would look like, were it a nail polish and painted onto my fingers.
Pictured on my tips is three coats of Nerd Lacquer Entirely Unlike Tea. This polish contains silver and iridescent glitter suspended in a nude pink base. It's an amazing nude with a kick of glitter. It's almost, but not quite, entirely unlike most nudes.

Nerd Lacquer All of Time and Space
The last polish I have to share with you this week is based off a quote from the Doctor at the start of the fifth series and beginning of the Eleventh Doctor.
On my nails are five coats of Nerd Lacquer All of Time and Space. Yes, five coats. Why so many? The mint base is very sheer in this polish and I wasn't in the mood for visible nail line. Once you get a few coats on the nail bed, the additional layers add depth to the silver micro glitter and the fuchsia medium hexagonal glitter.
Here's the big question for you though. Does this polish make you want to take off in the middle of the night with a raggedy man?
So... All of time and space. Everything that ever happened or ever will. Where do you want to start?I'm not up to date on Series 7 and looking for clips this past week has induced a severe doctor nostalgia.

Nerd Lacquer Don't Blink
Weeping Angels are by far the most terrifying creatures in the universe. They're as old as the universe, no one really knows where the come from, and they were once called the lonely assassins. The first episode they appear in is during Series 3, the same episode where we learn that time is actually a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey ... stuff.
The Doctor explains Weeping Angels much better.
Scary!
Pictured here is three coats of Nerd Lacquer Don't Blink. It's a stone grey polish littered with pieces of white and grey glitter giving it the same appearance as a Weeping Angel.

Nerd Lacquer I Think You Call Me . . . Sexy
Recently I acquired some Nerd Lacquer polishes from a friend who didn't desire them as much as she'd originally anticipated. Her loss is my gain however, as my Nerd collection grows to 6.5 gorgeous shades. For some reason I've only shown one of them previously, and that was over a year ago on nubs. So settle in and prepare for a visual smörgåsbord of nerdalicious polishes.
I'm starting with all my Dr. Who themed polishes. The first was inspired by an episode of Dr. Who called The Doctor's Wife, from Series 6. It was written by author Neil Gaiman, an author I've really come to enjoy after reading his novels such as Neverwhere.
The video below shows the scene from The Doctor's Wife. I've skipped ahead to the most relevant part, but feel free to rewind and watch all the interactions between the Doctor and Idris.
This is probably one of the best scenes from Dr. Who and one of the most memorable.
Today I'm wearing three coats of Nerd Lacquer I Think You Call Me . . . Sexy. It's a Tardis blue polish with medium hexagonal blue and silver glitter, and little holo glitter bits thrown in. It's gorgeous, just like the Tardis herself.

L'oreal The Palace Life
I'd been coveting L'oreal The Palace Life every time I visited my local Walgreens until I finally caved. It's such a pretty pink!
This is three coats of L'oreal The Palace Life. The wear on this polish is very nice (I went five days with no chips) but I found the formula to be very streaky.

Orly Charged Up with Sticks 'n Stones
After wearing a lot of neutrals, it's nice to wear a bright saturated color for once. Earlier this year when Orly changed their bottle/the logo on the front, the employees of Sally Beauty let everyone who purchased something select a bottle for free. I picked this pretty purple called Charged Up from the 2008 Orly High Voltage Collection.
Here I'm using two coats of Orly Charged Up topped with a glitter topper: Cover Band Lacquers Sticks 'n Stones. If I'm not mistaken, Cover Band Lacquers now goes by Ninja Polish and can be purchased on their site, NinjaPolish.com. Sticks 'n Stones is similar (but not the same) to Lynnderella's Connect the Dots. When I first acquired Sticks 'n Stones, Connect the Dots was quite the pain to acquire but since since Lynnderella is now selling directly on her eBay store it's a lot easier to obtain.
This black and white glitter topper is a nice addition to any cream base and I enjoy the appearance it creates on the nail. I fully understand why this is such a popular topper!
