Dove is one of my favorite colors from Zoya. It's a very light, opaque grey but it comes out very streaky and I need three coats to get full coverage. Broken Hearted is just an awesome hot pink crackle.

Broken Hearted Dove
Did you know that mourning doves are monogamous creatures and form strong attachment bonds? That's why I had a bit of a chuckle when I looked at the names of the two polishes I used to create this manicure. I picked Zoya Dove and a crackle: China Glaze Broken Hearted.

A Weekend Recap: Crackled Cross Iron
This past weekend I was feeling festive and went for a Halloween style manicure. A while back I had picked up the a China Glaze Haunting four-polish set at Sally Beauty Supply. It included Cross Iron 360, It's Alive, Black Mesh, and Goulish Glow.
For this manicure I used China Glaze Cross Iron 360 as the base with a coat of China Glaze Black Mesh on top.
I really enjoy the look on Cross Iron by itself. Adding the Black Mesh makes the whole nail look too dark to me though I do think it looks edgy.
Unrelated but exciting for me, this past weekend I was away visiting my parents and discovered they live near an Ulta. I don't have one near me so I was thrilled to get my hands on some Butter London polishes I had added to my wish list. Just my luck they were buy two polishes get one free!
I picked up (from left to right) Victoriana, HRH, and Rosie Lee. I am most excited to try Rosie Lee - I think this color looks so sparkly and fun.

Oxidized Aqua
Let me start off by saying I love love love this color. I've seen the crackles for a while now but I've never felt compelled to buy them - plus I thought the colors were kind of ugly. I want nail colors that are both fun, yet still acceptable for work, and the crackle polishes were just too out there. Hot pink? No. Gold? No. Black? No.
And then I met Oxidized Aqua, a delightful blue with a metallic shimmer. I was hooked! When the polishes became available for purchase at Sally Beauty last Thursday I headed over and picked up my very own bottle.
I love the way the polish glitters in the sunlight:
I love the way the polish looks indoors:
Have I mentioned that I love this color? I used Zoya Snow White for the base with China Glaze Oxidized Aqua on top.
I was running out of sunlight when I took these pictures so I skipped the polish clean up around the nail. Of course I cleaned them up before work in the morning, but I wish I could get better control over the brush when I paint them the first time!
